It seems a bit of a strange idea to take an (e)Bike to bike through hilly Trujillo and its surroundings, especially if you don't bike on a regular basis. But we can strongly advice you to do so. Read MoreHiking in Extremadura
Hiking in the Cáceres province is very well possible. Summer is probably not the most appropriate time of the year, but if you leave early (and when we say early, we really mean early) it is still possible. In spring and autumn hiking is even for the not so early birds. In Monfragüe you'll find several routes, but also around Trujillo you can find nice routes for walking. Not to forget the one around the lake in Los Barruecos (Malpartida de Cáceres). Alle these are accessible without training. For the more experienced ones we have of course the famous book "Walking in Extremadura" (in English) at your disposal. There more walks around Trujillo, and we are more then happy to inform you about them. A wide collection of routes close to Trujillo (and some towards Guadalupe) you can find on this Wikiloc page and you won't need a paid account to follow them. This page is sponsored by the local business club: Asociación de Empresarios de Trujillo (ASEMTRU).
Read MoreBird watching with a guide
Many people come to Trujillo with a purpose: to watch birdlife. Those who come prepared wont't find any useful information here, because they bring their binoculars, cameras and lenses and know exactly where to search for the things they are looking for. But if you like to learn (a little) more about where the birdwatchers are so excited about, it is highly recommended to take a guided tour. Making a reservation before you arrive is necessary. We are happy to make arrangements or find the guide we work with on the next page.
Read MoreAn easy walk around the castle
It is not going to be easier, nor nicer. Nature starts right on the other site of the city wall and the path around it is quite accessible, with every here and there a small elevation, but never difficult. Best to be done at sunset, because the sun sets on this side of the city. Beautiful views over the surrounding countryside.
Read MoreOn top of the walls
A short walk on top of Trujillo's city walls offers amazing views of the old walled city, but also a quite surprising semi-aerial view into the cemetery.
Read MoreTo the top of Sierra de Santa Cruz
The Sierra de Santa Cruz is a mountain towering above the landscape that invites you to climbing. The views and the scenery along the way make it a wonderful walk.
